What Is Routine Maintenance Anyway?
Your Fair Car Includes It. What It Covers May Surprise You.
Just like us, our cars need regular checkups to make sure they’re in good shape.
That’s where routine maintenance comes in, covering some of the most critical and ongoing needs of your car while also helping to catch smaller issues before they become serious problems. Following a regular maintenance schedule is essential to minimizing risk and avoiding big-ticket expenses later on.
Thankfully, every Fair car comes with two annual routine maintenance visits, covering oil and filter changes, tire rotations, and multi-point inspections.
So how do you, maintenance-minded Fair customer, take advantage of this important benefit? Just follow these simple steps:
Check Your Digital Documents & Manual
Prior to bringing your Fair car in, you should check the Maintenance Agreement located in the Documents tab of the Fair app. The terms and conditions detail your maximum benefit amount, or how much Fair will pay per visit for all covered services.
If the cost exceeds that total, you should be prepared to settle the difference. You should also check your manufacturer’s manual for their recommended maintenance interval or the oil-life indicator in your car if it has one.
Take Your Car In
Fair partners with Pep Boys and Aamco for servicing your Fair car. You can arrange a payment to be made by Fair directly by calling ahead to our Maintenance Administrator at 888-817-4627. However, you also have the option to take your car to a licensed facility of your choice and submit for reimbursement, provided you contact Fair through the Fair App, by phone at 1-800-584-5000, or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org within 48 hours of any work being performed.
To get reimbursed, just send a copy of your paid receipt along with a copy of the written repair order of services listing the Fair vehicle’s description, including the full VIN#, through the support feature in Fair’s app (below), or to email@example.com. The full photo of your invoice must be a JPEG or PDF file. Reimbursements typically take 3-5 days to process and approximately 14 days to arrive in the mail.
